Silk Textures is delighted to welcome Romanian deep house veteran tONKPROJECT to the imprint for the first time. He has earned great acclaim over the years for his work on Behaviors, Particles, and several other prestigious international labels.
The lead track, "Sunsomewhere", is a classic Balearic tune, with gorgeous Spanish guitar riffs and distant beachside atmospheric effects. Lush pads also flow through the track like an end-of-summer breeze. Remixing the track, rising Russian artist Denis Laurent returns to our division, with a more upbeat interpretation. A resonant, after-hours groove and a variety of emotive string and piano lines greatly enhance the soundscape.
The B-side, "Monday", also features a late-night rhythm. A gorgeous delayed vocal motif appears early on in the song, in addition to various chilled and provocative pad effects. Hungarian label fixture Adam Byrd offers a very deep, but characteristically cinematic rendering. The main break includes a deeply moving orchestral instrumental, a stirring climax to the "story" of Monday.
