Silk Sofa's 45th release comes from the label manager himself, Danish artist Gorm Sørensen. "Endgame", consisting of two new cuts, follows his previous releases on Sofa, "Harmonic Aspects" and "When Colours Emerge", which were equally well-received.
"Endgame" starts out with hypnotic rhodes melodies and accompanying string lines. A moody piano line emerges shortly after, as well as soothing choir stems. An array of enchanting cello melodies, chimes, and various other orchestral elements unite beautifully, and outstanding, energetic percussion lines are added later. The soothing strings lead up to the climax of the song, in which the combination of numerous melody layers forms a gorgeous soundscape.
The B-side, "The Last Second Of The Last Day", begins with a unique female choir and a charming piano melody. A stunning atmosphere is quickly established, soon followed by underlying string lines, as well as calm percussion elements. The theme part consists of soothing clap sounds, guitar-esque background melodies, and a vast array of mesmerizing pad layers on top.
