Fresh of his "From Floppy" single on parent label Silk Digital, Norwegian star Espen showcases his deep-progressive side on our Textures division with "Fruit Flies".

The Original Mix kicks off with a "naked" groove, surrounded by evocative and truly cinematic filtered pads. The rhythm begins to pick up, as the pads continue to filter in and out of the mix. As the song approaches the midpoint, a hypnotic, heavily-delayed bass layer begins to crescendo. This element is solo'ed in the break, where the various noir effects continue to paint a haunting soundscape.

Irish label fixture Shane Robinson's remix centers on the brooding themes of the original, while also adding various mood-enhancing arp lines and background pads. Meanwhile, the rhythm gently "coasts" along, offering the listener a soothing aural experience.

Finally, rising Serbian artist Jelly For The Babies submerges the tune into even deeper territory with his interpretation. A layered eighth-note progression guides the track along, as minimal percussion gives the track an "outro" feel, a suitable wind-down to a late night out.
